We understand these are confusing and tough times for our community. We have put in extra precautions and measures to keep our clinics a safe place for all patients and team members.

Given the current precautions of COVID-19/Coronavirus, we strongly encourage any patients with cold/flu-like symptoms to remain at home and contact us via phone to reschedule their appointment or to consider utilizing Telehealth Consultations.

We are fortunate to be located within medical clinics which will remain open during this period, as long as it remains safe for our team members and the community, to do so.

High-risk and chronic patients will have priority with bookings in an attempt to be a part of solving this public health crisis by reducing the pressure on local GPs, sub-acute clinics, and hospitals.

This includes, however, is not limited to;

Diabetic foot assessments

Concerning Paediatric foot assessments

Telehealth Podiatry Appointments

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, the option of telehealth consults for podiatry patients, especially those with chronic conditions, is becoming increasingly relevant and important. Whilst due to the manual nature of podiatry, this service will not be appropriate for all patients.

An Initial Telehealth Consultation will primarily work as a triage for new patients to determine if subsequent telehealth consultations are appropriate or if in-room consultations are necessary and can be safely carried out.

A Subsequent Telehealth Consultation will primarily work as a discussion related to your current treatment.

To make an appointment please call your local Genesis Podiatry Clinic and request a 'Telehealth Podiatry Consultation'

Podiatry Telehealth Consultation Fees

Initial consultation - $65

Subsequent consultations - $60

At present most major private health funds will provide coverage for podiatry telehealth consultations- please discuss this with your health fund provider.

Medicare Bulk Billed Podiatry Telehealth Consultation Fees

Will only be available to patients with a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) care plan. To see if you're eligible, please discuss with your GP. If you already have a current CDM care plan in place, no changes need to be made and we can use this as it stands.

However, if you currently have a CDM care plan for another podiatrist please contact your medical centre to have the relevant/remaining visits changed to Genesis Podiatry: Christine Perera, before your appointment- to avoid private fees.

Third-Party Podiatry Telehealth Consultation Fees

At present, we can confirm NDIS, TAC and WorkCover do provide Podiatry telehealth consultations, when appropriate, and we are happy to carry over our 'NO-GAP policy' for these parties - please discuss if Podiatry telehealth will be covered in your unique case with your case coordinator prior your appointment.

We are unsure for Veteran's Affairs (DVA) and SWEP - please discuss this with your case coordinator before your appointment.
